Getting started with Scheduler

Create round robin, elimination, Swiss, and hybrid schedules you can share and score.

Terminology note: below we use cricket terms like ground, match, and runs. Make a basketball schedule and you will see court, game, and points. Every sport gets its own words.

Create a schedule

Go to Dashboard › Schedules › New schedule, or use the create form on any schedule maker page. Pick a sport, the number of teams (or players), and the type of schedule. ArenOS then walks you through a guided setup: Participants and venue, Dates and times, Match format, and Review. Matches are generated when you finish the review step.

What type of schedule can I make?

  • Round Robin: teams play a set number of matches against every other team in their group.
  • Rotating Partners: players are paired with a different partner each match in a 2 vs 2 format. Ideal for badminton and pickleball doubles socials that track individual standings.
  • Practice Schedule: each time slot has one team and no opponent, score, or standings.
  • Single Elimination: teams keep playing until they lose one match.
  • Double Elimination: teams keep playing until they lose two matches.
  • Triple Elimination: teams keep playing until they lose three matches.
  • Swiss-System: teams play a fixed number of rounds, paired by performance rather than eliminated. Common for chess and large opens.

Tip: you can add single or double elimination playoffs to any Round Robin. Open the schedule and choose Add playoffs below the last match.

Edit your schedule

After setup, you are viewing the schedule. Tap Edit to change the setup. Use View to go back.

Teams (or players)

Rename each team and add a logo. Before matches exist, change the number of teams from Participants and venue. After matches exist, adding or removing a team regenerates the generated matches. On team-based Round Robin schedules, open a team from Edit › Rosters to manage captains and roster members.

Grounds (courts, pitches, tables)

Rename, add, or remove grounds. With more than one ground, the ground name shows on every match. Changing the number of grounds regenerates matches to rebalance dates and times. For a one-off location, add a manual ground and pick it on the affected match instead.

Groups

Round Robin only. Divide teams into groups or divisions; each team plays only its own group. Teams are spread evenly by default; drag to rearrange. Standings are shown per group and playoffs can be seeded from group positions.

Basic info

Rename the schedule, add a subtitle and photo, or change the sport.

Dates, times, and rounds

  • Start date: when matches begin.
  • When matches are played: weekdays you play and the default time window.
  • Day overrides: one weekday with different hours.
  • Ground overrides: one ground opens late or is closed on a weekday.
  • Pauses and holidays: Diwali, exams, monsoon breaks. Matches skip these dates.
  • Schedule length: full rounds, custom matches per team, or fill through an end date.
  • Match duration: in minutes, including breaks. Sets the initial time slots.
  • Daily matches per ground and rest between matches for one-day and two-day events.

Rounds of play

For Round Robin, the number of times each team plays every other team in its group. One round with 6 teams is 5 matches per team; two rounds is 10.

Manually change your schedule

Tap any match and choose Edit to change its date, time, home team, away team, or ground. Use Move all matches this day to shift a whole day, optionally shifting every later date by the same amount. On Round Robin schedules use Add match or Add practice below the last match. On playoff schedules use Add 3rd-place match or Add custom match for placement games.

Auto-seed playoffs

After group play, choose Auto-seed playoffs. ArenOS fills the bracket from the current standings and you can adjust any seed before publishing.

Score matches

Tap a match and choose Score. Cricket schedules take runs, wickets, and overs per side and compute net run rate. Racquet sports take sets and points. Standings, tie-breakers, and player leaders update immediately.

Share your schedule

Publish the schedule, then open Share for the public link, a QR code, calendar feeds, and embed code. Print and PDF downloads are on Plus and above. Anyone with the link can view; only you and your managers can edit.
